great description, i thought we were doomed to making only terrible gumtree adverts here, but at least there is someone who can write a good one. The car isnt too badly priced either, it must be one of the most affordable d turbos on gumtree.

the velle, i never seen a 90's vw with climate control before, and it looks like a good system dual zone with individual fan speeds. That engine bay is one of the most untidy looking engine bays I've seen.

Here is a cheap big motor:

Were you refering to the Senator? - It's a straight 6, of 170-odd bhp and negligible torque.....

On the other hand, the VW is a v6 and as it's already at the top of the cliff, the least we could do is give it a shove. 8)

I might be moving into the sticks as prices in the big smoke are a disgrace.
This means the Honda at 20mpg would bankrupt me. I might need a diesel again.

I've been eyeing this up on the bay of e

Unless you're moving to the mainland, you'll have a bloody long trek to get it home - Southampton is 30 miles further South of where I am. Think you can probably fly over to Southampton Airport to pick it up, but you're looking at over 4hrs driving to the ferry.

Coupe insurance is more expensive than the equivalent saloon/estate too. Looks nice though. Silver/Black spec is pretty decent. Basically an SE with less leather & no electric seats.

Aegean Blue and Polaris Blue are great blue colours for the Coupe (I prefer Aegean to Polaris); Ariane Blue and Hyperion Blue are a bit light for my taste.

My favourites are: Scarlet Red, Diablo Red, Aegean Blue, Polaris Blue, and Granite Black. Cosmos Grey is also quite nice.

My favourite colour/leather combinations:

Scarlet Red / Black Leather
Diablo Red / Black Leather
Aegean Blue / Black Leather
Polaris Blue / Black Leather
Granite Black / Red Leather
Cosmos Grey / Red Leather

Any of the above would also look brilliant with white leather too, but that was only available on Settant'Anni models in Hyperion Blue (Settant'Anni's in Hades Grey all had chestnut (tan) leather).
