Brake Pad Warning Light

Post by Gary406 »

started to get this light coming on now and again when i press brake peddle . its not staying on constant its just when i press peddle now and again its like flashing faintly.

does it come on and stay on permanently when the pads need changing ? or should i change asap. they are low but still life in them yet i think.

couid be just water in one of the conectors where the plugs go in,

ive had a few do it,

ijust make a loop up and disconect them,

if you think the pads look low, for what they cost id just change them first & see if that keeps the light out,

when i had clutch done other day i checked them why wheels was off and it was on the ramp and they are really low and the disc's have a deep groove around the edges
i also run my finger across the disc and it felt bumpy

euro car parts have 25% off brake parts at the moment so a full set of front disc's and pads (eicher brand) is ONLY £50.08
might order those now then i have them ready to change over .

MOT is due april 14th but i like taking it a month early so i think i may get them changed soon

Had them on my Focus and my first 406...
They are terrible! You have little braking or lots of braking. Nothing in between!

Go for a good set of OEM pads like Pagid. Or spend a little more and get mintex!

Both sets of eicher brakes I had were the same and also had a few others on forums have the same issues.

It geniunly feels like the pads are 'squishy'. I've had a few people drive my cars with eicher brakes and they have all said the same. It's not just me.
You also have to consider that if you had budget brakes all the time you aint going to notice. Where as like me on both occasions I went from OEM brakes to budget I noticed.
I personally wouldn't use budget pads any more.

Theres no differnce idont think,. pads what ever brand are the same thickness,
some last longer than others, perhaps, but ibin them every 6mth regardless of what brand

im on mintex atm, and the brakes are about the same as they was before, and they where some budget ones that came out,
