Radio Code - Programming

Post by Old Smokey »

Just a quick question, just obtained my radio code as i had to fit a new battery to the old girl.As usual no code,no radio book, just main handbook from the last owner. The code is 4 digit,my 406 is GLX model with the radio frequency in a small screen along with exterior temp.Feel a bit embarrased but how do you input it exactly? My last car was a Mondy diesel, could anyone oblidge?

Cheers Ian...... :P

when it reads CODE press button number 1, then use next track/radio station seek button (small arrow pointing right), until you have first number in code, then press number 1 again to move to next number, and repeat process, when code is entered in full press number 1 and will let you use the radio.
if you put code in wrong you will hear a beep and have to wait 1 minute until you can try again, but be carefull cos every time u get it wrong the waiting time doubles...2mins.....4mins.....8 mins... all the way up to 32mins wait!! Shocked

Thanks for that.I see it is almost the same as ford but then you,ve got to get it right or as you say the radio could shut down - loads of hassle!

Many thanks Ian...... :D

I've also just bought a 406 and need to put the code in, but I don't have a display at all for the tape player. How do I put the code in on this type of stereo?
