Went on the bay today, and for £7.99 got a kit including tools to refurb the phone
It includes new back, new front, new bezel, new sim tray and a few other bits
I was worried about kids being spiteful because his phone looks second hand, but fear not - he said to me today he's going to take his old phone to school and use the iphone the rest of the time 8)

60 quid for a 3G is probably a bit steep...If it were a 3GS - it would be a better buy!

And holy fark - phones are cheap in the UK. My 4S costs me around 70 quid a month!

I saw a Iphone 3G 8GB go on the bay for £47.99 plus postage yesterday, and was classed as "For parts or not working" and in the description it said cosmetically very bad

Ipod touch's go for more than £60 and that's even in 1st or 2nd Gen guise, so personally I was pleased with £60

Havent really looked into it, any iPhoners know?
needs the orginal sim in place for them to block it dont it ?
ithink if a phone is stolen that will be the first thing that gets flung,

many mobile shops will have ago at opening a phone to all networks blocked or not, no questions asked,
ithink that shouidnt happen but, thats the way it is :(

The 3G barely runs OS5 and struggles with many of the new apps! :frown:

I thought the 3G only goes up to OS4 ?
As said, he wanted a Ipod touch, I didn't want to be spending loads of money in case a. he lost it, b. he broke it, c. he had it stolen
So i'm happy with what i've got for him
He gets to use it as an ipod, and get's to play Angry Birds etc. without nicking my phone

OK it's not the best phone out there, but i'm happy and he's happy, so it's good enough as far as i'm concerned :)

If I was flush, then he could of had a 3GS, but i'm earning less than minimum wage most weeks, so my disposable income is limited, and if truth be told, the money I was given for my birthday last week went to buying the phone for him - i'm sorry if that's piss poor, but that's reality for me

Sorry there, think I went off a little there :(

Just seriously peeved with the situation i'm in and the way i'm treated

Only yesterday did I get the balance (20%) of the wages I was due at the start of last month, and got paid approximately half of what I was due on the 1st March

I'm not violent, but some days I just want to punch my boss's lights out, and i mean that literally

Still, I guess I have a job unlike some peeps, and although I have a few problems, my health is improving due to the gym sessions i'm doing in the hope of losing 9 stone - 3 down since Jan 14th and 6 more to go. Which is more than can be said for a few of you guys on the forum, you have my sympathy, and hope you get better soon.

Anyway back on track, new case arrived today, so will refurb his phone later for him.
