MOT today

Post by highlander »

I hate MOT time, but she's in the test centre now.

I'm fairly sure everything will be fine. I reckon I'll get an advisory on the rear brake discs, as they're just about done, but I don't think there's anything else that needs to be done to get a pass. I checked to ensure all the bulbs work before I dropped her off.

Fingers crossed, because I can't afford any major repair work.

Oh noes, what if one of your indicator bulbs isn't quite 'orangey' enough  there'll be civil unrest I can tell you.

Let's hope the MOT fairies are happy today.....

Mines going in for the MOT on tuesday and I am a tad worried about it! Have only had it 6 months now, but the MOT history from DVLA looked fine, had a couple of advisories and looked like only one refusal in 6 years.

A pass! Woohoo! :cheesy:

Advisories on the front and rear brake discs (so I'm in for a set within 1000-2000 miles), and he said something on the phone about a CV joint boot too - will check the MOT certificate when I go and pick her up later.

Thank wossname for that!

OK, got her back home now. Advisories:

001 (both front) brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened [3.5.1i]
002 (both rear) brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened [3.5.1i]
003 Offside (inner) Front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged, but preventing the ingress of dirt [2.5.C.1a]

001 wasn't expected, but not exactly surprising, 002 I knew about already, but I didn't see 003 coming at all. Sounds like a cheap part though.

Will buy discs next month.
