Injury

Post by Gary406 »

been hozzy today with my right foot. my big toes bone is cracked in 2 places & the next toe to the big toe is cracked in 1 place.

walking dog sunday crossing road (was dark) next thing i know my foot slams into something and i stumble forward keeping my balance and didnt fall over (luckily)
anyway i turns round to see what i had walked into IN ABSOLUTE AGONY, and there was a big pothole in the tarmac . about 3-4 inch deep with pure flat sides inside the hole.
seems i smashed my toes against the sides inside the bloody hole

never been in so much bloody pain. since sunday doing it

Not something I've done myself but i did take pics of our road when the old lady next door tripped and broke her hip and i even went to court to give evidence and she won over 20 grand... sadly she had been dead 18 months before the pay out mind.

I would think yours would be small claims compaired to that but why should this lot get away with the sh*t state of our roads if your in pain for 6 weeks and quite possibly more?.... I'd take the pics before they fill it in and ask the citizens advice.

Gary if you do take a tape measure with you and get pics of the size of the hole it all helps.

Edit: Ah, splendid. They're just after their cut. As will be the NHS & your employer

Get someone out there with a camera pronto, if the council have any idea what you're about they'll fill it in and you won't have a.. sorry, leg to stand on

I don't know what you do for a job but I doubt you have access to a union (thankyou thatcher, are you dead yet you evil old bat?) but my union helped me sue Waltham Forest council for the pot hole that took me off my bike and had me off work for nigh on two years

Anyway, hope you feel better soon mate. Eat lots of stuff with calcium in it - milk, cheese, fish with edible bones etc. If you have access to a health food store get some comfrey 'cos it's stuffed with calcium (old English name "knitbone")

I'd still get someone to take pics, potholes can be there for years and then all of a sudden you want proof and they've filled the bugger in... sods law mate.

iinjured my leg about 4 yrs ago,

First thing as said above, get the camera out, take plenty of pictures,
Find solictitor who works on no win no fee situations, Get that in writing No win no fee, becareful some do try to throw legal costs back onto you if the claim goes into file 13 :(

takes around 6mths plus for a claim,
igot £1500 the third party paid solicitors fees /medical fee,

you have to go for a medical, they just check the injury and give a rough estimate to other side of how long the injury or symptoms pain will last .

put a claim in mate, its a waiting game but, its worth while
