Plusnet Fibre Broadband

Post by leestudd30 »

Has anyone any experience of this? According to their website its almost in my area and should be available shortly from them. Like Virgin they can do broadband only, with an average speed of 40MB and a monthly download allowance of 40GB which is what I already have. Costs from £16.49 per month which is lot cheaper than Virgins 30MB package.

That it is but don't forget Virgin are doubling the speeds at the end of this year

The only probs ive had with the vm, is with them filter thingies failing
other than that, excellent service,

and if the Bandwidth drops, or out like that, they compensate, ive had a few months free out of them in the past,
but aspose most providers will compensate in some way if you ask for Migration code,

im on sky which uses the same BT line as plusnet . i only pay £7.50 per month for my broadband . thats unlimited usage and upto 20mb speed. (i always stick around 6mb which is perfect for what i use it for)

£16.49 per month ? were did you get that price from ? doesnt that price include the telephone line rental ? it must do :?

Thing is though, I need every penny possible to save for my wedding in October and my broadband is so slow (1MB if I'm lucky!), 40MB on average would be amazing! £16.49 is the price they quote on the website and what customer service quoted me about 30mins ago. As far as I'm aware there is no line rental on top, Virgin's fibreoptic broadband only packages don't have line rental charges on top.

Are you talking VM over cable or ADSL? You've only got micro filters on an ADSL connection.

I live in a small, expanding, Village but about 8 miles from the nearest City so we're in the middle of fields basically. The broadband services have to be rented through BT's equipment so it's expensive. I'm paying £45.00 per month using a combination of TalkTalk for the phone and AOL for Broadband

I've tried and tried but as soon as I give my address to these companies there's a pause and an "argh, right........"

Oh you mean the attenuator jobbies that go on the end of the cable, I've collected loads of those from NTL over the years!
Any chance you could PM me a link to that ebay auction? :supafrisk:
