Hi,
I had thought I had AC working but is seems there is a leak from the pipe under one of the valves. It is the small diameter pipe (High pressure?) and under the bend under the battery. I can see the flouro dye oozing out.
Is the pipe easily replaceable? I am guessing battery out and other end is off towards the condenser.
Any tips would be great.
Kind regards,
Ed

Re: AC leak from pipe near valve
Its probably just a straight replacement. but some of the joints can be buggers. However, a pic speaks a thousand words.

Quite right!

In this photo (not my car) the leak appears to be from the thinner pipe on the left and the bubbling comes from the ouside of the curve in the pipe.
Any guidance appreciated...

Re: AC leak from pipe near valve
The dual pipe, one of which has a leak, goes under the battery and up into the bulkhead. A mechanic has just had a look and says the dashboard needs to come out to get to the matrix to release the pipes at the bulkhead. Is this right?
Another option is to use Pirtek to come out and fix the leak - anyone used them?
Kind regards,
Ed

Re: AC leak from pipe near valve
Thanks Puggy - would not be the first time he has given me duff gen! a tight arse I am going to attempt to do it myself. I can imagine it goes without saying that the battery/battery case comes out. Will there be enough room to wriggle the pipes around, under the brake cylinder or is it a case of ABS, brake cylinder, etc all has to come out to get the bugger in?
Any tips, advice or guidance gratefully accepted...

Re: AC leak from pipe near valve
Hi Ed , they didn't remove any of those parts on mine so i would
say there is a way to wiggle it in and if you look the two joints
are on the outside of the bulkhead . Think the pair of pipes were
about £70 .

A right old hugger getting pipes in...in fact after taking battery, battery case, headlight, abs bracket out I gave up and got a mechanic to do it. £100 to fit and gas. Drive away, does it work? Does it ***! However when I got home I started checking it all over...it had blown the 10a fuse. Fitted a 25a one and hey presto...super cooled air. What fuse should it have?
