No brake lights

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

No brake lights

Post by HorshamPug »

Hi,

Last week one of my dipped headlight bulbs blew and now all of my brake lights have stopped working :( (don't know if the two are linked) I've checked (and changed for good measure) the fuses and had a look at the bulbs and everything looks ok but still nothing. The garage have said that it could be the brake light switch. Can anyone help me out as to where this is and whether it is easy to change? I don't really want to pay for a garage to do it if it's something I can muddle through myself.

Thanks

It's over the brake pedal (if you have cruise control it's, er, not the red one). It's held in with some sort of plastic nut which could have come adrift too.

Hi Steve, thank you, no cruise control, will have a look once it's daylight, just hoping that's all it is
