Looking for a free PDF creator

Hello,

I am looking for a free/safe program to write PDF's from Word documents (and to suit Windows 7 which I'm trying to get used to after years of XP ).

Basically I e-mail quotes/invoices and need to protect the document from accidental changes etc. (read only kinda thing).

Any advice appreciated.

I've got Nitro and it does change Word docs into pdfs but I'm not sure how you go about making it read only. Unless you just set that in the file preferences under windows. Hey what do you want from a free program?

Office 2007 can do it itself -- sometimes.
Under the office blob in the save as menu there might be a "PDF or XPS" item.
I think you have to run Windows Update on Office a couple of times before this feature gets added.

Cutepdf Writer is a good freebie PDF writer Welly, I use it on my laptop.

Don't worry. As soon as you upgrade your machine to run at a respectable speed, someone will introduce some software to slow it down.

No it's a lot better, the Ribbon bar actually makes a bit more sense in 2010!

I always hated Office 2007, 2010 is much better but I still prefer the 2003 one instead!

It's not the most friendly of places Doggy, hell of a lot of snobbery
