I think we had the conversation on here quite some time back about how many vehicles the 1.9 ended up in, so probably stands to reason, the HDi ended up in a number of vehicles also
**edit** apparently Suzuki was a customer of PSA and the DW10 ended up in the Vitara and Grand Vitara

Its not right tho idont think,

mention citreon or peugeot when you go for parts and they fleece you,
Might only be a few quid differnce but it all adds up by the end of the year,

irember when ibought alower mount bush for a 406 its was £18 but for a 306 one, £12 its the same thing !

The japanese problem was that they had good petrol engines for years, but Japan was never big into diesels.

This gave them a disadvantage in the European market.

They then teamed up with the European manufacturers, of which PSA had the best diesel (XUD). Suzuki kept this up with the HDi, though most others developed their own (Toyota D4D, Honda's flaky diesel and Nissan teamed up with Renault and started building tonka trucks).

The HDi also ended up in Fords and Jags.

The smaller petrol engines I think ended up in BMW Minis?

I remember taking a picture of my aunts Vitara, its engine looks identical to a hdi, the only difference is its sitting in longways. The XUD was offered in the samurai, and early vitaras.

According to the pedia of wiki:

"As a result of a cooperation between BMW Group and PSA, the MINI One D and the MINI Cooper D are also fitted with PSA-made HDi engines."

I bet a lot of them MINI drivers bought them because of the manufacturer, and would scoff at the prospect of driving a French car.....

Due to the Ford connection to HDi, a lot of Jags and Volvos also use HDis.

The XUD was sold as a Honda. The Concerto TD. Was literally a rebadged Rover 200, even had the Rover grille and lights (ie. it wasn't a Concerto as such).

They sold the Disco as the Honda Crossroad, but I think it used LRs own diesel engine. The Concerto is the only Honda that I know that used PSA engines. The mid 90s Accord used Rover diesels.

The TDi is used a fair bit, Mitsubishi put them in Lancers and Volvo put them in the S60 (they also used Renault diesels for the 440/S40)
