...and the first serious casualty of the government's stupid advice on stocking up on fuel and storing it in your home:

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/woman-badly-bu ... 48818.html

The woman was decanting petrol from a small container (which she'd used to fill up at a petrol station) into a larger container in her kitchen, when the fuel vapour was ignited by her gas cooker (OK so she wasn't exactly the brightest spark, no pun intended). She suffered burns across 40% of her body.

Telling people to stock up on petrol was just plain idiotic. I bet that as a result of the fuel strikes, and as a result of the panic buying, the price of petrol skyrockets, and won't recover before the 3p/litre rise in fuel duty kicks in during August. Well done Tories, you're artificially raising the cost of petrol/diesel and screwing over the population EVEN MORE without even bloody trying

What a Fookin joke !!! some prick of a minister suggests because the tanker drivers
are going on strike (which they haven't decided to do yet ) people should go out and
fill up , not only that they should take jerry cans with them and hoard the fookin stuff .
So what does gullible joe public do ?? rush to the pumps and spend money they can
ill afford on something they dont need  for fooks sake they haven't even started
the talks to try and avoid strike action so it will be a minimum of 11 days before they
could take action !! just how fookin stupid and easily led can adult people be
I totally agree with Dai , divert the people's attention while we screw the fookin life
out of them to get back what we loaned to the banks , fookin bastard government
lying through their teeth , ministers making stupid out of touch remarks and i now
see a woman has suffered 40% burns while putting petrol into containers in the kitchen ,
stupid i know but she wouldn't have been doing it if it wasn't for this government , i
hope her family sue the bunch of of misleading uncaring overpaid ill informed twats !!

:arrowu: iagree mate,

yeah alot of people have been stupid to go and Tank up,
but ithink many have gone and filled up not wanting too. a case of filling up because of those who have panicked and have potentialy created a fuel shortage at most garages,

ive only filled up because iknew theyd drain the pumps,
if they wouid of carried on as normal there wouidnt be any problem, Garages can now fix there own prices on fuel, anything up too £2 alitre or more iguess,

Agreeing with Puggy here, nearly had a row with my missus about it last night! I seriously cannot believe people are that stupid. Fuel has been running out all over gloucestershire and the 3 filling stations round the corner from me are all dry and one of them till at least Monday. I've only got a quarter tank myself but I have no intention of sitting in mile long queues like I saw yesterday. The strike isn't even supposed to be till be next week if indeed it happens. Hopefully I'm only driving a few miles before I put £20 quid in again so I'm hoping it'll last past the b/h weekend.

The Que is long, with many a moaning cu*t
That leads us to - who knows where, who knows where
But I'm strong, strong enough to carry a petrol can
He ain't heavy - he's my peugeot.

So on we go, his welfare is my concern
No burden is he to bear, we'll get there
But I know he would not encumber me
He ain't heavy - he's my peugeot,
