Forte Diesel Treatment
Hello all,
Quick question, has anyone tried Forte diesel treatment?
One of the workshop guys is sending me a 1 litre sample to try, as it's costing me nothing I'll give it a whirl but not too sure how much to put in.
I run a fair bit of veg oil when I can get it so I'm guessing the injectors get pretty sticky, no running problems at all at the mo so it's prevention rather than cure.
Any ideas how much Forte per litre I should be putting in ? shall I add a bit extra to take into account the veg ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I used to put forte in my pug every 5000miles usually before going on a 1400mile round trip. add 1 bottle to a full fuel tank. It does tell you on the bottle how much to put in. If you can get it there is a spout thing that goes on the bottle and saves spilling it everywhere. I was lucky the garage i used to go gave one to me as a freebie. It is very good stuff. Supposed to be trade only although i could buy it off the shelf from motor factors or the mechanic.
When i moved to Dorset i couldn't find anywhere that sells it. I buy it off a motor factors on ebay. The garage i used to go to swore by the stuff they used to call it rocket fuel. It doesn't affect the cetane rating the car always seemed to have a bit more go after using it. Its useful for cars that fail on emmisions bottle of forte in and give the motor a good italian tune. works a lot of the time Lol

Thanks Marco, only trouble is the guy who's getting it for me is decanting it from a large drum into a plastic bottle so I don't have the instructions for correct quantities.

Hi
just had a quick look on ebay and a small bottle (400ml) is enough for one tank of fuel. My tank is 70litres. So you should be ok. You could work out how much per litre to put in. doesn't seem to be anyone on here just now. Was hoping someone would reply to my post lol. Hope that helps. Looks like they've changed the forte bottle has a long thin neck so you wouldn't need that plastic spout i was on about.

Re: Forte Diesel Treatment
My MOT tester recommended it to me some years ago. He has failed cars on the emission test and then added Forte and the car has passed.
I always add it to the fuel tank a couple of weeks before the MOT.
He has suggested you add a full bottle to a 1/4 tank ( so it's more concentrated ) and then do an " Italian tune up " i.e. 4000rpm in 2nd gear.
You can really feel the difference

Forte is widely regarded in the marine and comercial vehicle world as being the best. Should be able to get it online ok.

Re: Forte Diesel Treatment
Well in all fairness my car has only done 60 slowish miles since i put ecomax in last Tuesday so tomorrow i think i'll go for a blast and get those injectors going... Be just my luck the traffic will be silly or i get caught speeding though.Bailes1992 wrote:It's be fine! My HDi sees 5000rpm daily![]()

Re: Forte Diesel Treatment
I've got a mate who tootles around in a mondeo. Had to have a new turbo fitted because the bearings seized because the turbo never turned.
I reckon 4000 rpm is good for a car every now and again.

my experience ragging cars definately doesnt keep the mechanic away. treat your car well and that will keep him away.Bailes1992 wrote:It's be fine! My HDi sees 5000rpm daily![]()

I think providing the engine is toasty and your not ragging the tits off of it, a quick blast up the revs once a day will keep everything nice and clear!Gary406 wrote:my experience ragging cars definately doesnt keep the mechanic away. treat your car well and that will keep him away.Bailes1992 wrote:It's be fine!
