odd knocking noise

when starting off , have a clunk noise front drivers side ,similar when backing off the throttle

Any ideas guys what it might be ?

Check your lower engine mounting and the right hand top mounting.

Top mounting is fairly easy to change, lower mounting means removing the right hand driveshaft and taking off the mounting block....there is a lot of info on the forum about replacing these.

thanks for that jasper , would a physical check show if its worn or is it just the knocking noise that gives it away ?

is it worth doing all of them ?

Replace the lower mount sooner than later - will stop it tearing the expensive flexi-hose.

A pain to change the bottom one - I tried and failed miserably. All the others are easy. Do you get clunks when going over bumps? Could be anti-roll bar drop-links.

Is the bottom mount/flexi hose problem also an issue on the D8s?

Had the same thing wen I brought my 2.1 pull had a clunk and wen I let of ye throttle clunk turned out to be the wishbone the rubber had completely gone so 2 new wishbone and ball joints and it drives like a dream
2.1 glx p reg d9 half leather electric seats d9 centre console leather steering wheel front lag splitter de badged front end strut brace all grey bits of interior is now black
Things to do finish off fitting leather door cards,coil overs,window tint, fit wolfrace wheels with 20 mm spacers 225.45.17 and the list will continue
