abs braking fault showing on panel

hi folks,ive had a fault appear on the dash panel on my 110 hdi exec estate y reg.it started 2 days ago and keeps coming on,if i disconnect the abs wire block under the bonnet and then connect again it will stop it for a bit then it comes on again.does anybody know if there is a easy fix for this problem.will rebooting help?thanks steve.

Could be one of the ABS sensors or the ABS reluctor rings. More likely to be a sensor fault if you don't actually get problems while braking.

Not sure how best to test the sensors though. Do you have access to Peugeot Planet 2000 software? Maybe you live near a member of these forums who does have it who might be able to help you out?

i had the same problem with mine i just took it to a a garage to get the fault read cost me 20 quid then did the work myself front sensors are doodle backs a bit tricker not a lot of room you can get the sensors on ebay for less than 20 quid

Hi codgod.
I had exactly the same problem and after a bit of investigating I found that on the drivers side front 1 of the clips had broken off the arch and the wire had been rubbing against the spring so when it touched it the light came on and would stay on untill I UN plugged it.
My solution was amalgamating tape tape round wire and a new clip never happened again.
So have a quick look round the car 1st make sure there's no loose wires anywhere.
