Re: stupid things you buy
That does sound a bit pointless really
What on earth possessed you?
My dad calls things like that "U.B.s" - "unresistable bargains" which he got from his mum due to his dad returning home with some useless tat but at bargain prices
These days my dad uses it to refer to all the junk he ends up buying at auction because there was something in the lot he wanted.
I have a whistling kettle, then again I like camping and I have a gas cooker
I must admit I'm pretty good at buying stuff that either turns out to be not as useful as I thought, not as good as it looked or just plain white elephants. I always wanted to get a borascope because of all the times I thought to myself that one would be useful. I got it about 6 months back and have so far... taken a picture of my teeth with it

About as close as I get is when I go shopping & spot something that the little man will love (like the giant Pooh & Tigger that were £10 each), but the Mrs does it on a daily basis.omega wrote: so anyone else done anything daft like this?
Her excuse is that she doesn't like to leave a shop without buying something as she worries that people will think she's shoplifting.

About your boroscope would it be any good at looking inside birds nests or them wee holes in the garden where the weasels/moles go, it would be fascinating to see inside.

Possibly, it's not got anything to steer it (they're mega-expensivo), it's just a case of bending the thing & poking it in there. Hey, it was something like 25 quid from ebay
This looks like it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-Handheld- ... 35b6c9971d but I'm sure I didn't pay that much for it
You could always pull the whistle off & blow through it

Err, the last time I heard one was the last time I was at my house, there was a power cut & I wanted a cup o coffeeomega wrote:steve

A few years back i went to the car boot sale to get some hens
I got two different breeds of what i thought to be young hens, a few months later there was no eggs, and they started to crow
