Hi Gumby, See the link below for the Bosal diagrams. Looks like very early ones had silencer and no cat.

Cheeres mate, should be a bit cheaper to replace than a cat and by the look of it a straight forward a cat to silencer swap on later models.
The guy designing them must have missed the memo saying 'make replacements as expensive as possible'
