"lights not on" MFD

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

"lights not on" MFD

Post by grasmere59 »

Here's a strange one,i changed the com2000 unit on my Exec and tested it and all seems fine except when i got out the car and left the lights on the MFD bonged and the display said "lights not on",i think the cars got a mind of it's own as why would that message come up in any circumstances? Doesn't bother me in the slightest but just seemed strange :?

It's a mis-translation from French to English.

The warning should be telling you that "You've left the lights on" but this message seems to have been somewhat garbled by whoever at PSA tried to translate it into English.

No problems so far but i waited for ages to get the the com2000 with the same part number as the existing one as my car has ESP and there only fitted to certain models of Peugeots.Mine was a 6242C6.

What car is it to fit? Saloon or estate? Theres a guy on ebay mends the floppy indicator syndrome for £20 and he gets good feedback for the repairs he does.

Having this problem on our 307, what's the easiest way of finding out if the COM2000 is DAV or Delphi?

Thanks, was just wondering if ServiceBox might say, but never mind.

I've already had the steering wheel apart once to fix the horn, so I'll put it apart and have a look at the COM2000 next time I have a few minutes. It's got to the stage where I can't put it off any longer really, it might fail the MOT in its current state!
