Dent removal?

Post by sirwiggum »

Anyone tried any techniques for dent removal? Small dings in the door (SUVs in car parks  )

I've seen a video where using a hair dryer and CO2 the dent pops out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skkITvgwTME

Scared it might crack the paintwork.

Or Halfrauds do a dent puller - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_255216

Though it gets bad reviews

We tried the hair dryer/CO2 method on my mates 205 one time. I can honestly say we had no success with it whatsoever

Its not even a huge dent, probably the size of a golf ball, but it sits right on the shoulderline of the door so it's very noticable.
Might make it awkward to popout from the outside as it is on a surface with 2 angles.

behind it with a mallet might be the best approach I think

the hair dryer trick is done by americans, they use Dry ice,
to get c02 you can get an airduster them can ones to blow ice cold. just turn it upside down when you spray it,

iuse wood to get dents out

I was looking at from a different angle where you concentrate to much on the sat nav and suddenly "oh fook another dent"

All the sat nav suction cups are good for is leaving ring marks on the windows.

My sat navs never let me down, i thought it did yesterday on a trip to a coach company deep in the Welsh valleys half way up a mountain... Turns out their registered address is their bloody house and not the yard they do their day to day work from so i phoned the number explained where i was and she said.

Oh your outside my house you need to come to the yard half way back down the mountain... argghhhh.

Sat nav rings. Ideal for theiving scum to see whos likely to have one in the glovebox

Good idea though about the sucker. But again, as the dent is on 2 angled planes it might not work the best.
