Not been in a post office to tax a car for years, do it on-line! you get a bit of extra time at the end of the month too and even if you can't display your new disc for a week you'll still be 'on the system' as having taxed it.

Me, too, online saves queueing with the peeps getting their pensions and talking about the weather whilst at the counter

Post Office queues are the most depressing place.

Watching people count their pennies at the till, trying to lift money out with some special post office card that takes ages, arguing with the counter staff that they can tax a car on last years insurance certificate etc.

Used to be bad for paying bills, now everyone takes up the queue at the cashtill of the spar with about 6 different cards to pay different bills, all of which take bloody ages

I know they do a good job behind the counter, I've sent a fair few ebay parcels and they've been great about it.

It's just the general public. When I worked in the petrol station I noticed the general public are ignorant sods.

What is that special card? Is it an account for people who can't get bank accounts? Does it not work in bank machines?

Prefer to do it online myself i taxed ours for 12 months on Friday, got it back yesterday, same with council tax, water rates and any other bills all done online through my bank it's easier than being nagged in the bank or putting up with knobheads in the post office who want "all of it" and want it now.
