WTF!!!

Our lad had an allergic reaction to latex gloves at the dentist, and the school insisted my wife leave work and pick him up in case he was infectious
Maybe I should charge them for lost earnings lol

yes its for the day after,he was sick at school,
aparantly the school informs the council when ichild misses a day, for what ever reason,
there was someone there whos mother was frail and ill and asked the school if the kids couid have 3 days off whilst she goes on a visit,
was refused, she ended up fined ,

My kids never miss a day but my eldests best friend is always off, she fakes illness, very often says mam i cant be arsed tomorrow it's gonna be boring and the mam says fine... she even had the day off three weeks ago because my daughter was out of school doing her grade 3 singing exam... she's done it for years and not once has she got in trouble for it.

One example of certain kids not getting away with it is my youngest last year it was a Friday and we had permission for her to have half day so we could go away for my wifes birthday, it just so happened there was a school assembly in the morning so i was there... she was called up for a singing award and the headmaster said (Lucy the whole school is proud of your achievement you'll be on stage one day i have no doubt).... But i'm appauled that you've come into school today not in uniform.

He made her look very small (she's only 10 now mind).... then he sees me stood at the back and said (oh sorry Lucy your going away today arent you i authorised it)

Ah stick that in your school cap ya bible bashing old fart 1-0 Lucy.

What the f*cking f*ck?

Write to them nicely, with an apology, but saying that in the rush of picking him up on the day your wife said she would keep him off the following day to be safe but assumed that would be noted. You didn't call-in the next day because you felt you had already informed them.

Again apologize for the oversight and ask if they could reconsider the fine in this instance. Noting also that in future you would make sure they were informed on the day of any absences. Note also, if you can, the attendance record so far (if it's pretty good) this will appeal to them being 'reasonable' under the circumstances.

Clearly if he's off school a fair few times in the term, or this has happened before, your're a bit knackered on this one :|

My son as not had much time off school , just the odd day and there as per normal of kids suffering with colds and flu,

ithink its because theres too Many Parents there who take the kids to school when they feel like it, so theyre trying to set examples,
Most days when idrop my son off you see women taking kids to school and there still in the pyjamas, they must drop them off and run home and jump back in bed,

the school is in middle of a Rough council estate so its not up to much, not that im calling council estates as iwas Brought up on one,
as of writing to the school with an Apology idont think itd work, theyd most probs put it straight in the bin,
with some of the stuff the teachers put up with ithink its sent them abit on the Arogant side,

I think welly meant letter to the council, he's right too try it it's probably out of the schools control now anyway.

These pyjama mamas really make me cringe at 3.15pm yesterday i saw a gang of baby farms (as the wifey calls them) 5 women picking their kids up all nattering bollocks and 3 of them were in pyjamas.

Sure you see women and they're going to the shops and queueing up the post office at 9am in their jammies!
No self respect.

Never heard of fines for absence.
When I was at school 87-2001, you brought a note in the next day saying why you were ill.
