where to buy a 406 com 2000 unit

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

where to buy a 406 com 2000 unit

Post by bigknickers »

I have a 51 plate 406 diesel estate, it has dodgy indicator stalks and only one horn position that works. It would seem from reading your posts that I need a new com unit, I definately want a BRAND NEW unit and would rather not pay Peugeot's prices, where's the best place for quality at a sensible price?

Remanufactured..........no thanks! I had a PCB on a boiler from one of those 'remanufactured' mobs, what a load of junk! as I said at the start BRAND NEW only.

I'm afraid brand new, the only option is from Peugeot as it isn't a part that the motor factors would stock. Worth keeping an eye on Ebay as you sometimes find the dealers doing a stock clearout where you can pick up bits & bobs cheap, but make sure you get the right one. Price is likely to be a minimum of £100, but could end up being £200+ if you can't wait & have to go to the dealer.

Also just because you had one bad remanufactured product doesn't mean every single one is not worth it & won't work.

I know several people have used the repair service for the COMM2000s and are perfectly happy with it. In fact I'm planning to use it on the parents' 307 shortly :)

Wow, that's good. Have you used them personally? I was just wondering roughly how much they charge, if you know :)

Boys, I wasn't trying to offend anyone, but the clue was in the question wasn't it? but I appreciate the effort you made to try and help me, Grasmere, your comment was definately offensive where as mine wasn't.............so what does that make you? perhaps you could look at Wave 78's response and learn a bit of class!

On the subject of a lifetime warantee on a remanufactured part, I don't want the agro of having to remove the thing, send it back and await it's return if it goes wrong!

Many thanks for everyone's help and it'll be a new item from Ebay for me.
