jameslxdt wrote:cheers malachy, do you think its worth getting a gti6 inlet manifold?
i cant see it making any difference whatsoever, the plastic one i have looks quite well designed
i dont know how well the stock one flows but i do know on an s16 converting to the gti6 manifold (alot harder than for you as it has diff stud patter on s16) does make a marked difference, the gti 6 manifold is very well designed and even when people have converted gti6's to ITBs they rarely see much more than a 10bhp increase, it also has a larger throttle body than your manifold

Sorry to butt in on you to experts just wondering then Malachy you rate the 1.8 engine whats the best way to get abit more performance out of it in your opinion?

The top speed isn't too bad I wont let myself go over 110mph anyway just after some better lower end acceleration as it seems sooooo sluggish after driving my mums brand new 1.9 SRi :frown: :frown:

its nto a cheap engine to tune though you need headwork since thats the big limiting factor.Mild porting coupled with gti6 cams inlet and exhausts and youll see 150bhp ish easy enough

yeah it will but when you start adding up the cost of all these parts and a remap its starts getting to the point where just throwing in a gti6 lump is cheaper.

heres some cams
