Having removed the door card so far as I can tell the rods for the internal and external handles are working
normally so my gut feeling is that the central locking is the problem. There are some very interesting
tips from the back pages on this website - in particular that the central locking mechanism motor
in the door is prone to seizing up.
Whilst I continue to fiddle around and spray WD40 in all directions, can anyone please confirm that whatever methods you try
to get the door open it won't make any difference if the door is deadlocked as a result of a faulty central locking motor
mechanism in the door. In other words the central locking overrides everything else?

next to where the conection plug clips in there shouid be a lever,try moving that with a screw driver,
you might have to bend an old screw driver tho to get at it,
ive resorted to having to destroy mech motors in the past on some cars to get rear doors open
