406 Parts & Accessories

Post by waue1978 »

Much as I don't want to rule out the possibility of having another 406, it would still be a sensible move to clear out most of the bits & bobs I've amassed in my couple of years ownership. I'm open to sensible offers on all of it & if somebody fancies taking the lot off my hands in one hit, it will obviously be cheaper. Will post up some pics when I get some time, but for now here is what is in there:

1 pair of D9 headlight protectors - SOLD

Set of 4 Rapier door cards (minus the black ash trim)

2 mint condition rear door handles (grab handles that are usually chipped, scuffed & worn) - from the original grey cloth door cards, can be fixed in using self tapping screws

1 stripped manually height adjustable passenger seat (Wiggy's old drivers seat from his LHD)

1 pair of estate roof bars (the standard long ones) - planned on painting them silver

1 drivers electric window switch set (non-folding mirror type) - all working, but rear isolater switch doesn't feel as smooth as my one did - SOLD

3 or 4 rear window switches

1 set of wood trims painted (poorly) in Diablo Red - probably need rubbing back & redoing

2 front seat belts

2 front seat belt pre-tensioners

2 grey cloth headrests

1 grey cloth passenger armrest

1 black glovebox housing (not the glovebox itself, but the lower part of the passenger dash)

1 aerial base (front, not rear fitment)

1 very good condition standard steering wheel (no airbag)

1 good condition standard gearknob & gaiter

1 silver centred gearknob

1 pair of wiper arms - bought to repaint & replace mine, but never did

2 estate rear window trims - the ones that always curl up & corrode at the bottom of the rear door windows - SOLD

1 passenger side centre console trim - the bit with the little vent in

Assorted standard front speakers & grills

You know, I didn't think to check. Not even sure if my old one had the soft closure. Is it just a cog on the side of it? Will have a look tomorrow & get back to you Dave.

The rear window trims, is it one for each side, in good condition, and do you mean the one in pic below?
(excuse the wobbly photobucket line, lol, it's too early on a Sunday!).

And the headlight protectors.

Don't suppose you've a front strut brace laying about also?

Can you pm prices for delivery.

I'd imagine it's just a cog, which is what I really want - all depends on whether there is a mounting point on my housing
Any chance of a pic please Stu :D
If so, I could make you an offer, send me the mechanism, and bin the housing

Bad news I'm afraid mate - no cog or mechanism that I can see. But here's a pic of what I have so that you can see if it's any different to yours:

Got it from Ade Bingham, so not sure if it would have come from a high or low spec D8 or D9 coupe. I just wanted it as I'd broken a couple of the clips in mine when I changed it from grey to black.

Those are the ones, but yours look pretty good from what I can see. No strut brace I'm afraid as it went with the car (couldn't find the original shorter bolts), but they cost no more than £30 from the aforementioned Mr Bingham anyway.

I'll PM you a price for the protectors & strips if you're still interested.

It's mainly just the drivers side I want for the window strip.
You can't tell in the picture but it looks like a mouse has been chewing chunks out of it along its lenght :)
So would rather replace it with one that has a better seal against the glass.

Pm a price on that and the headlight protectors.
Thanks,
Dan.

And one very happy customer indeed, all windows work (i either have a lazy passenger motor or the rubber is slightly catching the glass, which is my theory it might not have opened in years) but it works no problem. :cheesy:

Didn't expect the passenger switch at that price aswell though mate much appreciated. :cheesy:

Not a problem mate. Was bearing in mind why you wanted the switch so figured that you could have the passenger switch to try just in case changing the drivers one didn't work.

Unfortunately delivery isn't a viable option on the door cards. It cost me over £12 to send a set of rubber mats the other day. A set of door cards will end up costing in the region of £30-40. I gather you're not too close to Hampshire then?

Do you have the door seal rubbers for a 406 estate?

2 mint condition rear door handles (grab handles that are usually chipped, scuffed & worn) - from the original grey cloth door cards, can be fixed in using self tapping screws

do you still have these mine are in a bad state and most places have really scruffy ones.
