D8 Cruise Control Retrofit

Doggy, I've found a 1.9 exec on eBay with cruise, have asked the seller for engine bay pics (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0734751544). It's not much help for the 2.1 due to different fuel pumps, so the throttle linkages and gubbins are entirely different (not that ServiceBox shows that!). Nevertheless, at this stage I consider the more information I can gather the better.

When I get some images from him I'll whack them up here

Right, got some more detailed pics of the cruise kit, thanks to a kind ebay seller:







Image 4 is the two connectors for the solenoid (bottom) and pump (top) which I assume correspond to the two connectors in the wheel arch picture from the Coupe earlier in the thread.

I can't work out what image 3 is, any ideas?

It's the ON/OFF Dashboard cruise button.

Good luck if they're anything like as rare as the 2.1s, I can't find one anywhere! The only one I found (or lozz found, actually) had already been sold

I'm going to a scrapyard tomorrow to have a look at a few and see what I can find.

Thanks mate, bookmarked that page and will keep an eye on it. Fingers crossed there'll be one in the scrappy tomorrow. If not I'm going to pop down to A5 Salvage, they've got about 20 406s in at the moment. It's about an hour's drive away but there are a few other bits I want anyway
