Air con compressor

Post by rwb »

I'm pretty sure that mine has now had it.
I get whirring noises at specific engine speeds, and these change when the air con is on.

Makes me wonder whether it is the clutch rather than the compressor. I see it comes apart. Is there a bearing or something in there than can be replaced?

On the other hand, the air con has no effect so I assume there is now no gas in the system.

How interchangeable are compressors. Do I need another Delphi 1135463 or will any off a 2.0 HDi fit?

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

There not worth repairing mate,
cheaper just to source another one, altho if the system is filled you wouid after go to air con place first to have the system emptied,
Your compressor may not be the Cause for the noise,
