Throttle position sensor?

Post by STALLED »

Hey,

I think I have a knackered TPS in my XU10 406 - where is it actually located and is it hard to replace as a DIY item?

Is there a ECU reset required?

Cheers guys,

Joel.

The TPS is nearly always located on the throttle body.

Should be a case of undoing a couple of screws and a wiring plug removal/refitting to replace it.

Not sure if a reset is required, I wouldn't have thought so, but electronics are not my strong point.

if its putting your eml on i would say you might have to clear the codes after the new one has been fitted but i have fitted new sensors before when the eml was on and i havnt had to clear the codes as there just stored in the ecu, so if when you fit it the light goes out all should be fine.

No EML light - but a case of high idling and "jerkiness" when coming off throttle. Also hard to do a cold start!
