Ive just ordered myself a welton panel, it cost £43,50. Ill get a look at the lugs on the bottom and see if it needs drilled or not, whats the best adhesive, would no more nails be ok, or should i use tiger seal. I suppose it wouldn't matter since the bumper doesn't rust.
Looking through old threads i seen diagrams pointing out the welton panel and also the bluey bling. What is the bluey bling, where can it be purchased from?
The chrome strip comes with self adhesive tape already on it,if i were you i would cut the lugs off and just use the tape,my bumper already had the holes in it but as i didn't have the clips it is only held on with the tape and it's stuck like sh#t to a blanket.

i understand the clips that holds it down are the same as the clips that hold the fake wood to the door cards? If thats the case is there any chance of deforming the chrome strip when pressing the clip into place? Is the strip made of plastic or metal.
The chrome strip is plastic,it holds fine without the clips. If you want to use the clips i think you would have to take the bumper off to get to the underside to attatch them.

It looks nice, thats not a bad looking car especially for 243k miles, the lights i don't like, i like my headlights shiny.

And this glue is for my submarine not for putting up you're f*c*ing noses, and dont think i dont notice cos i do... Buy your own f*c*ing glue!!! Fatty Lewis Twin town 1997.
When you think of it £1750 is a lot of money for a 406 with nearly 250k on the clock, I've seen sub 100k cars 03 and 04 in very nice condition go for less than that.
The welton panel arrived today, nicely packaged in a lion chevron box, with the sticker showing the part number, i cut the two lugs off the sides but kept the middle one and drilled through the bumper, between the adhesive tape that came with it which was fairly strong and some superglue its held in place fairly well.
Here it is
Ive recorded the installation but the video is still uploading.
