Turbo working when it wants

Hi everyone my name is Andy, I have a 406 estate hdi 90 in white. Ive owned it for just under a year now but yesterday i went through a ford! Now the turbo doesn't want to work in 1st gear and comes and goes when it wants in all other gears. Please can anyone give me some ideas what to look for.

I dont understand much about mechanic but maybe you should get some readings with the computer,maybe some sensor is gone or something.

Yeah I unplugged the maf sensor after reading another post, it seams to be working like normal so I think a new sensor is needed, but thank-you for your reply

rite ive borrowed a maf sensor to try! done an air filter and oil change and shes working lovely thank god so now just need a maf sensor.

yeah me too like i said just got to find a maf sensor now, so fingers crossed for that because i dont really wanna pay £100 for one lol
