I'm back (Now Pic-heavy)!

Post by Doggy »

..after a great trip to Scotland last week. 8)

I'll add some pics when I get a mo, but amazingly had a whole 8 days with no rain, (least not during the day)!

The Dogmobile did us proud, 1600 miles at an average 44 mph / 44.8 mpg - may not sound spectacular, but without lots of dotting about during the week and a fair bit on single-track roads, the average speed would have been a lot higher.

As my daughter & her other half joined us for the second weekend by air, we got to do the wonderful Loch Lomond / A82 Rest & Be Thankful stretch SIX times in all. :cheesy:

Back to work today. :(

YEEEOOOO welcome back Doggy!

Good time in Scotland?

Been to Loch Aird near Loch Lomond, it's lovely that neck of the woods, perfect for a long weekend.

Thanks guys - a few pics as promised:

Are we there yet?

A tad warm on the way up.....

But beautiful scenery - this here's Loch Long at Arrochar.

The view from our cabin.....

...and from the hill above....

Ettrick Bay, Isle of Bute

My bro's D8, Inverary

4.1 litre 270 bhp 4wd 406.....

My dad built this.....

(Well, there was a few of them)....

A certain pug, again...

All too soon, time to head home...

My lad had temporary insurance for the trip, so we shared the driving, (or at least the bits he didn't sleep through).

He started the return trip, doing the 90-odd miles to get us south of Glasgow. Took 2 hours, the nearest thing to a traffic hold-up we had.

Yours truly took over, but my plan to use the A66 was scuppered due to horse-drawn vehicles going to the Appleby Show causing an 8-mile tailback.

With no real option but to travel the whole length of the M6, I decided to get it over with - Lockerbie / home in 4 hours.

Oh, and we found a cure for midges........

No, it was about the only option it doesn't have, (also no ESP).

I'll just have to make do. :(

Your not missing much without the satnav as it's as basic as it gets and the ESP is just more to go wrong and makes the com2000 unit 3 times the price! Mines got the silver effect dash which is obviously another French quirk.

puggy

Looks like you had a good trip, lovely scenery over there.
Your pug looks good, don't see many 406s in that colour, more a 407 colour.

Up North (or East as you would call it...) it was hitting temperatures not far off it last weekend.

Out with a beer having a bbq?
No.
Moving house, shifting furniture and boxes. Twice, via short term storage, as there was a holdup releasing the keys.
Lost a few stone in sweat that weekend.
Thats the Irish summer over though.
