I have a customer who towed a bigger caravan than yours with his 110 406 to the south of France or Spain every year....he's in Spain right now but has a 407 SW now.
Only problem he had was when he was boarding a ferry to France one time, the engine cover had broken away and due to vibration had cut through the fuel pipes.
I tried K-Seal but no luck.
If the Steel Seal don't work then I'll do the HG myself as I've decided that the car is too good otherwise to scrap or sell for spares and I like the old bugger.
Should be able to diy for a couple hundred I reckon even if it needs a head skim, whatdya think???
Your best bet is too change the gasket imho,
itried cutting corners the other week , it just made things worse, spent aday cleaning the engine them miracle cures in bottles makes a mess,
if k-seal didnt work nothing will, you will end up just waisting money and time,

Do not skimp on this by not having the cylinder head skimmed...ALWAYS skim an alloy head.
Forget the steelseal stuff, do the job right, these things never work.
110's can tow 1500kgs cant they?.... i wouldn't trust that mind but mine tows my van nicely but it's 1100kgs fully laden.

And this glue is for my submarine not for putting up you're f*c*ing noses, and dont think i dont notice cos i do... Buy your own f*c*ing glue!!! Fatty Lewis Twin town 1997.
Yes i think they can tow a braked trailer up to 1500kgs but if you go by the 85% rule as they recommend by the caravan clubs it's a lot less.I think it all depends on how you load the caravan and the noseweight etc and how experienced you are at towing.

Ok thanks for all your replies fellas. My first thoughts were to repair it myself but to be honest I just can't be arsed to rip the head off and I don't recon it'd be economically viable to pay a mechanic. So I'll sell her for spares/repair and get another.
Shame coz she's a really lovely car, my 1st pug.
I'll look around for another Executive and list this one on ebay unless anyone here is looking for a cheap repairable and is handy with the spanners?
Any ideas what it might be worth?
161k Executive estate in very nice nic apart from the HG.
