I recently upgraded the clocks in my 406 from the bog standard ones with the analoge clock to one with a rev counter and the oil level indicator. Much better
However... On test driving it, the speedo works very slow. 10 mph is actually 30 mph and 30mph is near 70!!!
Sounds like they need realigning.
I found out what my car would do on the rev limiter in first on the old clocks.
Dismantled the new clocks and removed the needle, then jumped in the car and sat it on the rev limiter in first and pushed the needle on pointing at the right speed.

So, if i've read this right, you've replaced the speedo with a different one? Calibrated to different speeds? I.e., the wrong speedo?
Perhaps the fact that you've fitted the wrong one could be the reason?

That's right. The speed was the only think that worked correctly on the old set of clocks (I need the fuel and temp). This was a nice upgrade from the original set but it's the speed that now won't work right!
Have I missed something I need to bring over from the donor car?
I changed from 120mph to 160mph and I had to do what I said above.
