D8 Heated Seat Switches

Post by jonsowman »

Hi all,

Looking for the heated seat switch panel that sits in the centre console (goodbye pen!). Anyone got one lying around?

Must be for a D8, not sure if the Coupe ones are the same.

They are - the dashboard, centre console, steering wheel, and switch gear (other than the parts for the electric windows) is the same on the Coupe, Saloon, and Estate. As long as you get them from a D8 Coupe, you'll be fine. Speak to Ade1122 over on the Coupe Club forums; he'll sort you out.

You could even try your hand at replacing the D8 centre console with a D9 one - apparently this is a very easy job (disclaimer: I've never needed to - I've never even sat in a D8, let alone owned one), and you end up with cup holders, which you didn't have already.

Thanks a lot for that highlander, most helpful.

Just been to look at the centre console and it seems the pen holder is actually moulded into the plastic rather than being a pop out piece :(

So I'm going to have to change the centre console (probably for a D9 one) at the same time as I fit the heated seat switches.

Will get in touch with Ade, though I think a scrappy might be better for the console given its size.

I originally just got the switches thinking the pen holder was just a pop out piece, and had to buy a D9 centre console - which incidentily I got from Ade
If you do, you need to fit your D8 ciggy lighter, due to the wiring, and you'll need to open up the whole, as the D9 is a smaller diameter

In theory yes mate, but I imagine it's going to cost a fortune to post since the console is massive. Any ideas on cost?

Do you remember how much the console (and shipping) was from Ade? I'm not overly concerned about having a D9 console so I might try and get a D8 one with the switches instead.
