If that's the kind of shyte they try to pull I'm never setting foot in that place!
Thats what I was thinking! The dials (inclduing fitting and progamming) are very expensive, they will have a few quid change from £1000 but why should I loose out? If i wanted normal dials I would have bought a Zetec
Would I have to tell my insurance it's modified etc? :x

Tell them they can either repair it to the original specification or they can have it back for a full refund. What a shower of shyte Carshop appear to be!!

Thats what I told them today, tried giving me the "You only have 7 days to give the car back for a refund" Bollucks. So I reminded them of the sales of good act 1979

See what happens tommorow when they phone. The guy on the phone was nice enough, hes only telling me what he's being told at the end of the day.

Yeah that's a "change of mind" clause, not a "it's not f*cking working properly you f*cking dolts" clause.

Repair to original spec or full refund are the only acceptable outcomes Sam. If you don't get any joy tell them you're going to contact Watchdog or something similar.

Bloody hell!!!. Who knows what else is screwed. I would be contacting trading standards and get rid asap. I thought new Fords had improved. Maybe not. Good luck, Rappy.

This isn't Ford fault. This is the idiot in CarShop that must have thought it would have been a good idea to jumpstart my car and fried my instrument cluster.

It's a user interface built into the dials of my car.

You can change settings the with car, access info about the car, check trip computer, change radio station, access my mobile phone etc etc :)

Cracking system actually. Better than the iDrive on the Beemer.

Oh right. Have been in a few new Ford Mondeos. Not really me. But all that matters is that it ticks your boxes.

Don't get me wrong, not built aswell as a Beemer, but it's a cracking motor none the less!
Less common than a 3 series, the most reliable car per miles driven according to the biggest warranty companies and it's bloody cheap to insure (which is important being 19).

Hmm. So following the same logic, this would mean if you had a Mondeo with a 2.5 litre 5 cylinder engine, and it went pop under warranty, they'd replace it with a 1.6 litre 4-cylinder model because the engine originally fitted to your car costs significantly more than the one in the basic model?

Or maybe if I had bought an Aston Martin V8 Vantage from them, and it went pop, they'd replace it with a Cygnet because of the cost difference?

Tell you what - F U C K T H A T .

They either replace the faulty components like-for-like, or they take the car back in exchange for all of the money you originally paid for it, and then they can piss off and die.

A bit like, and highlander will back this up, taking your computer in for a repair, and them saying "oh we fitted a slower processor / less RAM / smaller hard drive because the one in your computer is significantly more than a basic model"

What a farce. You presumably paid for the option of nice dials, take no nonsense!

iwouid look the car up and see what the car was fitted with standard.

all you need is the Reg number and you can pull up all the data easily from a ford

You can even get access to the vin number through the reg number,

Noice!

But you shouldn't have had to argue to get it.

Let's hope that's the end of your troubles and you can get on with enjoying the car for once.
