I've got the complete fan assembly from my old car but reluctant to get rid as I know it's likely to go in my new car.

Probably better off trawling the local breakers mate.

A wise choice I guess. Local breakers seems like the order of the day.

Sod the breakers

1. How do you know the resistor in the breakers will work i.e batterys are usually removed so unable to test
2. How much life is left in the resistor
3. less than £20 posted off the bay

I looked on the bay and saw them for 29.99 and thought a gamble for a couple of quid from a breakers and good bet. If they were less than 20 quid then I would go that route. I don't suppose you have a link?

I can't find the exact one I bought, but a quick search on the bay threw this one up

Cheers. I was looking at the wrong ones. The ones I was looking at were the blade type ones

I will fetch the motor out tomorrow and check before buying.

The guy I bought it off said that he could get the resistors for a few quid but I might have to wait a couple of weeks before he can do it. Rather get the right part ordered and get it sorted.
