Strange one .....
My fuel gauge seems to go up and down whilst driving, not slightly or slowly but will actually swing between 1/4 tank and 3/4 tank.
Also moves when accelerating.
Any ideas ?

pcb - printed circuit board, its the circuit in the back of your dials that controls the speedo, temp gauge, fuel gauge etc...
i wouldnt worry about it unless it really bugs you

You could always investigate the board for dry joints and try resoldering any that you find, also a good circuit board cleaner / solvent can usually resolve any damp / water damage / marks on the board...
You may find that it could be a faulty sender or as james says the PCB if it is then chances are its something simple that you can either go and buy another of ( resistor, transistor, capacitor ) and solder on in place.. alternatively, £10 set of clocks from your local scrap yard, will save you lot of trouble and means no messing as such!
