Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
I was looking to put bluetooth in the 406, these basic parrot units seem good value:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PARROT-CK3000 ... 500wt_1378
On parrots website when using the compatibility checker when is select 2002 406 with jbl amplifier it says "The installation of your hands free car kit needs a specific ISO adaptor. "
How hard could it be to wire it up without an adaptor?

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
ive got one of these/simalar kits in the renault,
from what ican see it all just plugs into the conectors for the radio, plug and play,
not sure how they work tho, iwas going to rip it all out and fling it,
have alook for some downloadable instruction /diagrams on the net mate,

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
the parrots are easy enough to use some phones have tricky menus but once paired and set to
automatic they are really easy to use
i found this diagram:

car stereo without iso plug sounds about right, i suppose its simple enough all the thing has to do is take away the radios signal and put its own through the speakers.

I had a ck300 and have changed to a ck3100, fair better and you can upgrade the firmware via bluetooth unlike the CK3000 which you have to buy a data lead for. Also the sound quality is better, but if you are looking for a ck3000 I have one for sale

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
The ck3100 does look like a much superior device especially with the screen, but i have a air vent mounted holder with an iPhone lead coming through the air vent that charges the phone and lets me play music, the stupidity of apple designers means the phone won't send its calls out through the dock at the bottomgtv wrote:I had a ck300 and have changed to a ck3100, fair better and you can upgrade the firmware via bluetooth unlike the CK3000 which you have to buy a data lead for. Id be interested in buying a ck3000 if you have one, is all the required leads supplied with it? Is the firmware update important, would the old version support a 3gs?
Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
Ah ok, yes it comes with all the leads ect, not sure about the firmware or the iphone 3gs as I have a android phone but it worked fine with that so I can't see it being a problem but can't say for sure.

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
I emailed around a few auto electric places, and one from newry replied and said i need an ISO adaptor (SOT 1001) which costs £40 because the JBL system requires a low-level adaptor to operate the hands free system, same as one of these:

this seems to be a good guide on how to wire up the adaptor:

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
I took the car to an auto electrics place to get the radio wired up but they had no luck with it, the sound coming out of the parrot kit keeps getting amplified way too much and its too loud to be useful. He didn't think much of the jbl setup either and advises me to remove the amp and fit a kenwood or alpine radio. At about £250
The other choice is wire up an external speaker, and as there is holes in the plastic trim in the passenger footwell that might be a better option

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
Seems like abit of a Waste of coin that mate,
Imean Binning the the Standard Audio for sake of a Parrot kit,
id just live without it,

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
If it's to loud how about a audio matches, takes speaker level output down to line level, that should work and don't cost much, used a lot in ice installs.

Re: Parrot Bluetooth and JBL radio
£250 is a huge waste of money for essentially just a new radio that will not really look right in the dash, the man said it would sound much better, but the jbl system sounds fine.
I think the money would be better spent on the timing belt or crankshaft pulley
Anyhow I've set the parrot kit to one side, and retuned the amplifier adaptor (£40 back) the simplest solution is just to put the external speaker in, the radio will still mute but the sound will go through a wee speaker
