49/100 here, (as Pug intended) the genuine number now would be a tad better, methinks.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Driven a Volvo C30 1.6D and that was terrible. No power will 2000rpm then it shot off like a rocket.
Saying that my mondeo is not that much better. Under 1500rpm Ford have mapped it so that it is flat to save the Flywheel. Which is a good thing because low revs nackers up engines anyway. I get better economy at 60mph in 5th gear at 2000rpm than in 6th gear at 1700rpm and it's better for the engine.

That's consistent with the power and torque curves

My 90 pulls from about 1200, and I always dribble it round on low revs. Been doing this for over 100k now. Maybe no problem since the flywheel is solid?

those green scores seem like bollocks to me.

OK dudes, so as I'm sure you guessed this was a bit of a loaded question...

I spotted a car for sale on the interweb which sounded pretty much exactly what I've been looking for for some time. It's almost exactly the spec I'd have chosen if I was speccing it from new, except that I'd have chosen the 2.0l engine instead of the 1600, and I might have chosen a different colour (simply because this one is very close to my Pug and I wouldn't have minded a change). It's an ex-demonstrator so it's fully loaded with every optional extra in the book!! 8)

So I went to see it and took it for a test drive and the engine is fine, OK it's not going to win a race but it doesn't feel slow either, and it's soooo smooth and quiet on the motorway! 62.9 mpg combined (claimed!) and 119g CO2 so £30 a year tax :P :P

Anyway, I've paid my deposit and am now arranging my monies and just waiting to hear when I can go and collect it 8)

OK, bring on the old man jokes!!!!!

I'll be really sad to see the pug go after all this time, but I suppose we all need to move on...  Anyone wanna buy a lovely 406??

Edit: Oh, almost forgot... 35/100 http://www.nextgreencar.com/view-car/30 ... al-6-speed

Nice car there Dai :D

My son, the Volvo mechanic, says the engine is virtually the same as in our 407, unless it has the very latest 2010 engine which is a Volvo unit.

He says to watch the oil level, never fill it above 2/3 full due to DPF problems causing blown engines.

Apparently the fuel filter is fitted above the rear axle and is a pig to bleed.

Enjoy your new car :D
