I remember the cat c car being at a garage on the A45, so I just googled "A45 Coventry Peugeot 406 6 speed", and in search results it mentions a car with 103k on it, but when clicking on the link it shows me something else
Too much of a coincidence if you ask me - I say it's the same car

The ambition to change an auto to a manual is pretty common, I have seen it on other forums.

Generally it seems a whole world of hurt though, surely not worth the money. Fun if you like a challenge is another issue.

Also scrapping a car for parts is for the patient. I had a car on my drive for most of a year 2 years ago and made £400, without selling anything special, very useful, but so is my drive.

I'm off to Cornwall tomorrow, and there is a 2.2hdi exec estate with 106k on it in Falmouth, that I was half tempted to go look at, but I just don;t know as work isn't very good at the mo, as one of our best customers shut down last month, and the idea of shelling out on a newer car worries me right at this moment

That one does look smart, Dave - I would want to remove the aux drive belt & prove it's the pas pump that's noisy, (it could be the crank pulley or much worse the DMF). I'd want to know what he's been towing with that arrangement, (though given it's Falmouth it may just be a smallish boat & no great distance). Other than that it does look really smart & just like mine should

Make sure everything works, including aircon and press for evidence of 'antipollution services' up to date, (FAP replaced / Eolys topped up).

Amazed he's had no bids so far. Timing's a bit wrong for me or I'd be damn tempted myself, (also a bit reluctant to get precisely the same colour scheme).

Timing wasn't brilliant for me, as laid out over £1000 on this holiday
If we hadn't lost that customer, i'd of been on it, but I decided to play safe
Car never made reserve anyway ( whatever that was )

I wonder what the reserve was too - it seems you can't really get one with around 100k for less than about £2k, which just isn't worth it for me. I doubt I could get much more than about £5/600 for my 180k miler, (still the devil you know, new clutch, DMF and all) and it's newer than that one.......

I said to the father in law, that car is 2k all day long but the location has probably devalued it as so far out the way for many people
If the price was right, and work was better, i'd of had it, drove it back, and got the train/bus/hitch hiked back to Falmouth for rest of my holiday

But as you say, sometimes the better the devil you know 8)
