What, you done buyed a new new car with an warranty n everefing? Was living a life in fear of major car-related financial catastrophes too much for you? Awww :(

Ps. Kia parts and servicing - dealer only. Goran is checking Ovlov for me but he suspects something similar (although I reckon the fact he doesn't already know speaks volumes...) He says he knows how much I hate them but a weebubblespew would make sense because you "can buy parts for them from the butcher's shop" (Croatian saying) Or a Zafira or Meriva (barf!) because the parts aren't that expensive and Krešo the mechanic is Opel trained. "Be smart" he says :supafrisk:

Oh my good gawd, I think I'd rather buy a horse. Plus if it goes expensively wrong I can always eat it :?

 Not really mate, but I was a bit scared of the day that the repair bill exceeds the value of the car (and then I'd be forced to scrap my pride and joy    ). This way when she reaches the end of her days (hopefully not for a very long time yet) someone else will have to pull the plug!

Can imagine my arris getting very twitchy when the warranty runs out on this one though...

Steve, do you really need a car for yourself? I know driving the Toytrotter is akin to walking through your village with no pants on but can't you just manage with the one vehicle between you?

That's the idea, it's madness to run two cars, I should just flog the Pug but I can't bring myself to do it.

There must be something better than this silly hairdresser's car. The Mrs wants something fairly short but high up and I need something with an upright seating position & good ground clearance for my back, I'd also prefer something designed to carry more than a handbag - an extra foot would be perfect.

If I can find a veerhickle that ticks the boxes then I'll put both cars up for sale, flog the one I get the best price on and px the other.

Btw the Pug is coming out again tomorrow :cheesy: My pa and nephew are arriving via air, obviously they'll have luggage with them and if I took the RAV they'd either be carrying stuff on their laps or someone would be catching a bus...

You should get the 406 up for sale, you won't miss it for long and it'll spur you on to getting everything sorted.

Probably a Kia Sulkento would be ok but they're freaking huge.

Honda CRV?

I'd say Freeloader but they're a whole lotta trouble I think.

Difficult criteria to meet your requirements :|

Freeloader is a bit small actually, it's probably no bigger that the toyotter, and the Discovery 3/4 is fekking huuuuuge, and expensive, and will cost a couple of limbs to run!

I had a good look at a few Kia Sorentos, always fancied a big 7 seater 4X4. I like the Sorento a lot, never got round to driving one though and the reviews for the driving experience aren't too hot, excellent reviews for all other aspects of ownership though. I was after a 7 seater 2.2 diesel KX3 Nav but, the tight valleys boy in me made me buy the car with the better economy and cheap tax :supafrisk:

I got "don't touch it with a barge pole" noises from Goran regarding the Kia.

I didn't like the stuff on Honest John about the air con compressor exploding and damaging the engine on the CRV but I guess they don't all go wrong, They're also very expensive here but something like one of them or an Nissan N-Trail would probably do. If I had any faith in Japanese cars any more.

Sell the Pug - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!1

This is deeply subversive, almost blasphemous! An outrage in what is still ostensibly a pug-worshipping forum!

Why haven't any of the mods spotted this! Oh..............
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Doggy, you are only putting off the inevitable, why not just come to terms with things.

Here, I'll include a motivational image to help the transition...

I drove my dad's one when I was in GB a few years back, I think the boot might have been bigger but not by a lot.

Just looking at the CachCow, DPF problems (no point looking at diesels then), rear shocks, warped disks, leaky windscreens, one car with a list of problems as long as your arm... So practically a recommendation from HJ there  I guess it's another one to sit in, I even know someone who has one (sort of - he's a friend's boss). Pricewise they suffer the same thing as RAVs, even the 2wds are expensive 'cos they look like 4x4s

I think you may find the cashcow a bit small too, even the +2 doesn't have a great deal of space.
