Egr on the inlet side, is that at the front on a laguna?
Here is a possibly silly question but is the HDI a side valve design engine, is the exhaust and inlet both located on the same side of the engine, ie on the bulkhead side?

idont think the Gearbox will last long,
been looking on Eghay etc theres no 5 speed boxes plenty of 6 speeds, :(

its got 2 tubes of Moly-slip in Whine goes over 40mph its just at low speed 28 -35 mph its noisey,
imight just dump the oil and replace it and see if that helps but idoubt it,

The only renault ive had with a noisey gearbox was the old Fuego
ithought all the Moderner boxes wouid be pretty good but obviously not, they havent changed, (Choclate gearboxes :frown:

And asked if it was For sale,

itook 500notes off him and a Fiat punto Jtd.

so im stuck with a punto for now, not bad tho as it only stands me at 30quid 8)

Mileage dont bother me Mate,

the Hdis can have Millions of Miles on them and still run Well,

Nearest one ive found upto now is 140 miles away,
Theres not Many around thats in Decent traveling range,

idont want to be driving 100s of miles for it to turn out another waste of Fuel and Money if you see what imean,
the 60-70 quid waste in fuel wouid be 60-70 less on My Funds to buy a406, :(

But im Fairly positive, one will turn up on Ebay next week, ithink all the ones on there now are the ones that have been on awhile and keep getting Relisted,

I do like that sort of motoring, run it for a few thousand miles and sell it for the same or a profit.

All the cars I've owned have lost loads.

I actually thought of you lozz the other day, there's a mechanic-type bloke round the corner from me who seems to dabble with cars and he's had a Laguna Estate 53 reg? on his drive for ages sort of half-covered in tarpaulin. The other day I walked past and the left-turn indicator was going all by itself :? was doing it a few days later too

I suppose that's the trouble now where you can buy something for a few hundred quid but it's knackered with electrical problems.

Looking forward to your next 'venture' anyway :cheesy:
