Nice 8)

But 75 grand

To save any more weird people wasting their time with stupid offers of a pound etc, anything much under the listed price is automatically rejected by ebay on my behalf, so they dont even reach me for consideration.

Hmm, and iwas going to see if he wanted to swap for a punto, idont think il bother askin him now, he seems very rude

But it's a Sierra :? I suppose somebody somewhere thought it was worth the cash but I can think of a lot more interesting cars for that sort of money.

A quick Google later - http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/sea ... ars/page/4

Ffs I'm 4 pages in and I already found half a dozen more interesting and/or faster cars for that money or less that I'd rather own :frown:

I watched top gear us last night one of them were driving what we would call an XR4X4 or XR4i and the Cosworth was the expensive version if i remember right? they kept calling it the Merkur but it was basically like you say a bloody Sierra

Didn't the merkur have a turbo lump from a Mustang, was a 2.3 engine if I remember. I've been looking at this cossie for weeks, wish I had £20K!

My first few years of motoring was with Sierra's and Escrote's around 1989 with the company I worked for I got to drive all kinds of new stuff. The Sierra 1.8LX was particularly horid and would wallow and lurch about all over the place  this was at the time Unleaded Petrol was being released and the Ford recommendation was to use full-fat LEADED petrol every 4 tank full's to keep the valves sweet

One of the Sierra's on the fleet was horibly abused from day one and did a 'party trick' every time you switched the engine off! - it would run-on for bloody ages and pinking badly as it did, emptying the carb in the process

I was put off the Ford brand for 20 years because of the Sierra, Escrote and Onion's :frown:

I like this one for sale, it's original and if someone loved those cars in their youth (but couldn't afford one but now can) would buy it so they can have the very best example - and why not? personally though I think £40K is more realistic?

They were driving a 2.3 but i dont recal them saying it was a Mustang engine but your probably right... I've deleted the episode now so cant check if they said it and i wern't listening.

The RS500 was built in that number to homologate for saloon car racing
and were finished off by Aston Martin at Tickford so does kind of make them a
little special , 75k worth i'm not so sure but i do go along with welly's
theory if it was something you once aspired to and could now easily afford
would be nice to own .
.. ooh are those drugs for me Matron

XR4Ti is Americas version of our XR4i, it had a 2.3 turbo engine instead of our V6.
