They wernt or didnt seem arsed about the overloaded car either
ipointed to the 6 that got out the car and all igot was leave it with me.,

as iseen the car coming down the Brow towards me iseen the top of the drivers front wheel almost touching the wheel arch,
seriously overloaded, there was a young baby in the car too, which made me feel sick,

ithink it was either an old corola or a carina which didnt look in roadworthy condition to say the least,
the police wernt arsed with anything isaid

Jeez man im sorry to hear this, it sounds very unfortunate. But the main thing is your ok

That was decent of the dealer to help out. how could the woman have concentrated properly on her driving with 6 children in the car, and probably no seatbelts to keep them all in place.

lozz wrote:the seller said im being picky
Well let's see about that then, shall we?
lozz wrote:1. Horn dont work.
The horn must work in order for the car to pass its MOT - this is viewed as a vital safety component. There's a reason all cars have these, and it's not just to show people how pissed off you are. Not picky.
lozz wrote:2. indicator stalk dont look good,
Again, working indicators are an MOT requirement. If the stalk doesn't look like it'll hold up and at some point you actually want to signal that you're making a turn and they don't work properly, then you could end up in a collision. Not picky.
lozz wrote:3, nothing displayed on the Mfd.. no life from it, perhaps unplugged.. whats that hiding hmm.
Not hugely significant, slightly picky possibly. If there's a serious problem (i.e. not simply "Brake fluid level low") then it would flag up with a light on the dash (e.g. antipollution fault may trigger the EML, the FAP being blocked would light up the DFP blockage light). Obviously it's not working and the guy is trying to sell you the car, so he should try to rectify the faults - he is possibly just being pissy because of Pug prices for the MFD units.
lozz wrote:4. front tyres dont look good,
Serious. If the tyre is damaged and fails at speed, the car (and its occupants) will likely encounter injuries - I had a colleague who had a blowout in his old 405 while he was doing 70 on a dual-carriageway, and the car left the road and rolled down and embankment and he ended up in hospital getting his neck checked for injuries. The car was written off as the roof was crushed flat. Not even slightly picky.
lozz wrote:5. oil leak not major but its got one, perhaps sump plug.
On a turbocharged car? Am I not right in thinking that the turbo is lubricated using oil from the engine? If there's a risk that this oil leak could result in the turbo being starved of oil, won't that mean the turbo could become damaged? Possibly over-reaction, but I think for a garage to sell a car that has any sort of fluid leak is highly irresponsible. And then to top it off by calling you picky?

The car should not be sold at that price. You should be getting that for a massive discount, or he should be fixing all of these faults for you at his own cost - certainly the tyres, the horn, and the indicator stalks if nothing else.

Firstly thank fook your alright that could have been much worse i guess.

secondly i'd ask that dealer to look for another 406 for you he seems a decent one even if he did think you were picky.

Thirdly, Steve you said what others were thinking with the terrorist thing. :supafrisk:

And for my fourth comment, the copper picked on the tax because after running your plates thats the first thing that flagged up but to then disreguard anything you said were back to the terrorist thing i'm affraid... We are the foreigners in this country sadly matey.

Are you sure its ok to sign out, did the doctors not say anything?

As for the car, if he is offering to pay for it ie the £2500 it cost, and you can keep the broken car it sounds like a good deal

Hmmm pay you out for the car (what are they hiding?) it could be a good deal but like someone else said what about the two stints in hospital and possible lasting injuries?
