Logbook

Post by Gary406 »

my sister is buying a saxo 2moro. as her 1st car . seems decent enough for £500 but my worry is the guy only has the new keeper slip of the logbook...

what do we do. i know we can tax the car with this new slip but what happens after that ? how do we get a new logbook and register the car in her name ?

ive bought a few cars with just the Green slip,

its no problem, just get a Form from the post office, and send the Green slip off with it,

Always send Documents to the dvla by recorded delivery!

Scan and copy the Green slip and the Aplication form Before you send it off,

Make sure youve taxed the car First if theres no road tax before sending green slip off,

They dont charge you to issue a new log book with the Green slip, so theres no cost involved other than the postage stamp and the recorded delivery,

>>... before buying the car, you can cover your back by spending a fiver or so on a car check,
theyre have been a few people that ive heard of that have bought cars with just the Greenslip and the end result was someones had a log book loan out on it

cheers lozz. done a check and its all clear. no nasty history what so ever...
its only a 500 quid cant see there being a loan on it and even so loan companys cant do anything with logbook. doesnt prove ownership says on logbook.

guy seems fair have his address and so on so should be ok. was just worried about gettin a new logbook.
