Leak from the rear!

The other day I had to drive over a kerb to get out of a parking space and as I went back to down something underneath the car got caught or dragged along the path, heard a lot of what sounded like a scraping noise. I've looked underneath and I can't see anything missing or loose (haven't heard anything while driving and no warning lights on the dash) but since I've noticed some kind of leak from just in front of the drivers side rear wheel. I've run my hand over the sill and there appears to be water dripping off it, least I think its water. No smell and its looks clear but maybe rusty, is it possible I've busted a hole in the sill and thats just water draining out of it? Do the sills have drainage holes?

Should add it was the back of the car I caught as I went down the kerb.

The sills do have drainage holes (stick "sill drain" and the search box ). If that's what you mangled then you need to get on it, unless you know someone with a plasma cutter...

Could be the sills.
The best thing is to put it up on some jack and look under.

Are you sure it is water leaking down?

I'm pretty certain its water, its clear apart from a bit of rust in it, no colour or texture like oil, brake fluid etc. Without sounding daft, whats the worst thing thing that could happen if I do nothing about? Some of the other posts mention the drainage holes are commonly blocked, one mentions a row of seals that go underneath.

Row of seals? No idea, there's a drain each end of each sill & that's it.

If you leave the sills full of water they'll rot from the inside out, if you leave the sill damaged it'll drain but it'll still rot from the damage. Nobody makes a repair panel. Also there are 3 actual panels, the outer is repairable by someone with an idea what they're doing but the centre and inner ones will be quite a job to repair effectively.

Row of seals?

Might be referring to the rubber sill strip with it's snap-me-off fixings. The plastic poppers snap off and leave a hole where water can run into the sill. I thought the sills came with drain 'slots' from the factory but they get mangled 'shut' by hand-fisted jacking of the car???

Ah, I get it now Yes, there's a seal along the bottom of the doors, clipped into the sill with tiny fragile clips. The strip is positioned so that it's very easy to catch a heal on it when getting out the car

So is there anything I can do to seal it before I get it to garage? What actually is the sill drain? Is it a hole with a seal? Is it just a hole in the sill which gets blocked by crap from the road?
