Scrap Metal query

I've just dismantled our old 12-foot trampoline and it occurred to me that there's a fair amount of Galv Tubing in a pile.

Rather than take it to the local tip would it be worth anything as scrap to be weighed-in?

You should get something, weigh it i think it's about 128 notes per ton... not that you've got anywhere near that.

Hmmmm, I guess it weighs around 35/40 Kgs so I'll be looking at about £4.00 or something

Given the nearest place is 8 miles away this is beginning to look crap..... oh well, cheers for the answer.

That does seem pointless unless the nearest tip is just as far, The bloke who owns next door dabbles in scrap he was saying thats the value was around 180 per ton a few weeks back... If it was me i could leave it at my side entrance and it would be gone in a few days being a rag n bone man seems big buisness around here lately their here every few days.

Their almost as bad as those people who deliver recycled clothing bags i had 4 of the fuckers yesterday do they think we throw clothes out every day? they make decent bin liners mind.

I could leave it out on the street with a sign saying "Free - help yourself" and it'd be gone eventually.

I had an old trampoline, the only time it was being looked at was when i had to move it to cut the grass, after loading the car boot up with the tubes and springs as well as some old brake disks the grand total came to £12.
