knocking noise on 110 hdi over 3k

Hi just got the car and it has a knock over 3 k revs it sounds like the pump is to far advanced but it can't cos it's an hdi. I know it needs a good service and belt and water pump doing. Are carparts4 less any good and what oil do I use ? It's at 20700 miles and I'm gonna keep it for as long as it lasts cheers stu

An oil change Wouidnt do it any harm,
id check the Egr too,
