first thing to check is if the clutch is hydraulic or not and check all the cables for tight bends and kinks, there is an adjuster on the acc cable near the pump end.

is the clutch is hydraulic then you may have to bleed the system or replace the master and slave cylinder

euro car parts have clutch cables in at under £30

If you've got ramps or axle stands it's a fairly straight forward job, failing that parking with the drivers side wheel on a kerb will do in a pinch as long as you're not blocking traffic.
Never work under the car on the silly scissor jack that's for changing wheels at the side of the road only.
Being extremely careful it shouldn't take more than 1 1/2 hours less than 1/2 that once you know what you're doing

From the pedal clip it goes to a gromet through the bulk head then a couple of clips in the engine bay then slots into the clutch lever, hardest part of doing mine was hooking the stupid clip on the back of the clutch pedal! having 2 elbows on each arm helps.
It's an auto adjusting cable so just keep pumping the pedal once it's assembled and it's job done.

Any concerns just take lots of pics of the old one for reference.
