What does the noise sound like? is it a knocking or is it a grinding noise?

A knocking noise under the conditions you describe is almost definately part odf the suspension / anti roll set up. To check the suspect corner up and push and pull the wheel on the vertical and horizontal axsis. Any excessive movement should be obvious. Key faults are the rubber bushes which hold the roll bar to the subframe, and the wishbones where they mount on to the sun frame.

A griding noise is indicative of disc being knackered or pads being worn. Check the thickness of the discs to see if they need changing (Not sure what the minimum thickness is on these cars)

Also check the run out of the disc with a dti gauge this will show if the disc is warped or not.

A noisy bearing should be present all the time not just when breaking and steering, but to check this jack the front of the car up and spin the wheel listening for a grinding noise (Sometimes better to drop the caliper to check fully). Pulling the wheel in and out axially should reveal any play in the bearing.

Hope this points you in the right direction.

Good luck
